Committees
Members of the BSA interested in serving on a committee are encouraged to submit a Committee Member Application. Responsibilities and expectations of committee members are outlined in the Committee Member Agreement. More information about our current committees is available via the links, below.
Communications & Marketing
The Communications & Marketing Committee is one of four initial committees established by the BSA. Some of the activities and areas of interest of this committee are referenced, below.
Some of the responsibilities of this committee include:
- Developing the brand of the BSA
- Works on messaging, tone, and collateral materials of the BSA
Some of the potential outputs of this committee include:
- Management of social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Campaigns to encourage community involvement
- Bloom Bulletin (newsletter)
- Development of a branding guide (PowerPoint, Style Guide, etc.)
- Update of the Patient & Family Handbook to be more visually engaging
Community Engagement
The Community Engagement Committee is one of four initial committees established by the BSA. Some of the activities and areas of interest of this committee are referenced, below.
Some of the responsibilities of this committee include:
- Programs that encourage patient/family involvement in the BSA
- Outreach to new and existing members
- Ongoing assessment of community needs
Some of the potential outputs of this committee include:
- Peer/Family Mentoring Network
- Welcome kit for new members
- Support in providing translation to other languages
Conferences & Events

The Conferences & Events Committee is one of four initial committees established by the BSA. Some of the activities and areas of interest of this committee are referenced, below.
Some of the responsibilities of this committee include:
- Support all aspects of International Patient & Family Conferences
- Possibly develop content for ongoing Webinars
- Support members in hosting Regional Conferences
Some of the potential outputs of this committee include:
- Conference playbook for future conferences

Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee is one of four initial committees established by the BSA. Some of the activities and areas of interest of this committee are referenced, below.
Some of the responsibilities of this committee include:
- Leading fundraising campaigns for specific BSA programs & activities
- Developing fundraising toolkit for community
- Developing donor strategy and retention guidelines
