Hi, I’m Debbie James and I’m mum to a beautiful and very active 10 year-old daughter with Bloom syndrome, she was diagnosed at 18 months of age. Our family of four live in Shropshire in the west of the UK.
We joined the BSA in 2018 and attended our first conference in Chicago that year. It was there that we met other Bloom families for the first time and we all made bonds with people that will never be broken. I’ve volunteered on the fundraising committee and enjoy doing physical challenges to raise money for the BSA. I am now a Global Ambassador, helping to spread the word about the amazing work and research the association carries out and the huge sense of community and belonging it provides.
