Mission

Our mission is to connect, educate, and support the international Bloom syndrome community and stimulate research that leads to longer, healthier lives.

History

The Bloom Syndrome Association was founded in 2012 by Paul and Susan Zaslaw of Hanover, New Hampshire. Paul & Susan’s daughter was born in 2004 and diagnosed with Bloom syndrome prior to her first birthday. After attending the 2008 conferences on Bloom syndrome, they wanted to ensure that the synergies from Chicago would be sustained, that collaboration between Bloom syndrome families and researchers would continue in earnest.

In 2020, the BSA expanded its mission beyond connecting families to also stimulating research.
